I worked full-time at NGP from July 2021 - July 2022. While there, I worked as an Operations Associate, performing a range of administrative and project management tasks. I was also on our Creative + Cultural Organizing Committee, helping bring creative civic engagement projects to life. One of those projects was launching This is Not A Game in Austin, TX at SXSW in March 2022. 

On Saturday, March 19th, NGP partnered up with #CareFreeBlackGirl for their CookOut event at SXSW in Austin, TX. #CareFreeBlackGirl is a lifestyle brand that creates platforms for black women in art, tech and entrepreneurial spaces. At this cookout event with 500+ attendees, NGP soft launched an app called This is Not A Game (TINAG). TINAG is a match-3 style game app that is meant to engage youth and encourage civic engagement.

I was the project assistant for this event with my colleague, Jhana Grant. I managed the project administratively in Asana, I worked with our design and communication departments to get Merch created and language finalizes, I also ordered and tracked all inventory, ensuring our supplies made it to and from Austin. I also commissioned a local artist in Austin to create a custom Neon sign for the event. I spent the weekend of March 19th in Austin to work the event and talk to event attendees about the game. 

Seven weeks later, we launched the game in Atlanta on Saturday, May 7th at Underground Atlanta. My colleague, Jhana Grant, and I produced this 200+ person event with a tight timeline. I managed the project administratively and served as the cross-departmental glue. I secured the venue, created the event layout, ordered supplies, managed on-site signage, created internal documents, and worked as an event manager throughout the day.
